The Streaming Platform is Producing a Popular Game TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The most recent action-packed instalment that audiences experienced was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the antagonist, Antón, and was released on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is famous for delighting in violence and mayhem with similar excitement, all while weaving engaging, socially charged stories. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show attracted two producers whose creations have embodied all of those elements.

What to Expect

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game property, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' structure by having a new backdrop and group of personalities in subsequent series.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as showrunners on the series through their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

The network enjoyed excellent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and extremely entertaining. We also want to appreciate our collaborators at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also feature in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago approved for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new comprehensive agreement with the creator.

“Getting to work alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably accommodating, entrusting us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX family constantly supports me with their ongoing confidence and backing.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology series. Every title is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” said Hawley. “To develop a epic action show that can change from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the core of humanity through this complex and turbulent viewpoint, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to partner with Rob and introduce our shared irreverent, visionary style to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus internationally.
