Devoted supporters of the pop star are calling for that a person who jumped a barricade and touched the celebrity during Thursday's Wicked: For Good premiere be detained or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage depicts the individual from Australia shoving aside camera operators and charging at Grande while the performers walked down a event pathway flanked by onlookers.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the shocked performer away from Mr Wen, who was observed being led away of the event by security officers.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though official papers revealed that he was scheduled to appear on the next day. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

History of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a performance. His Instagram account contains clips of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including jumping on stage at Katy Perry's Sydney concert in June this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last winter.

"There needs to be action enforced against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," commented an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen posted of his behavior.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" a different Instagram user remarked.

Followers Show Disapproval Over the Star's Safety

Numerous fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had revealed suffering from PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at the end of her May 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring hundreds.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.

Some fans also questioned event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos circulating online, Grande looked surprised when she was touched by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.

Many of attendees had gathered in a sea of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific launch in a Singapore shopping center, including several who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it commenced.

The motion picture, to be premiered on November 21, is the second of a dual interpretation of the well-known stage musical Wicked, which revolves around the surprising friendship between two distinct witches.

The musical itself is a spin-off of the classic book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a rosé sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a elegant ensemble embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The first movie, Wicked, was the most successful motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored ten award recognitions, securing two for excellent wardrobe and artistic direction.
